Great Rigg

Grid Reference: NY 35587 10401
Height: 766 metres/2513 feet

"The panorama is interesting and varied, a special feature being the large number of lakes and tarns in view. To the west the mountain skyline is fine."
A.W Wainwright

Great Rigg on the ridge south of Fairfield is crossed by many on a circuit of The Fairfield Horseshoe although another good ridge climbs to Great Rigg from Grasmere over Stone Arthur.

Spectacular views can be seen from the summit of Great Rigg on a good day with a good angle over Helvellyn and Striding Edge to the north and Morecambe Bay to the south.
