Beda Fell is the long ridge descending north from the Angletarn Pikes, the ridge rises to a defined summit at Beda Head. The long undulating ridge is flanked by the valleys of Boardale to the west and Bannerdale to the east, both valleys eventually join the Martindale Valley around the lower slopes of Beda Fell.

The grassy ridge is flanked by steep crags below Beda Head, Allen Crag and Thrang Crag being the most prominent of these.

The subsidiary summit of Winter Crag, a little further down the ridge from Beda Head is a spectacular viewpoint over the valley of Martindale and the rocky summit is a gem.
