Bonscale Pike

Grid Reference: NY 45348 20086
Height: 524 metres/1719 feet

"The turreted and castellated rim of which has the appearance, when seen from Ullswater far below, of the ruined battlements of a castle wall."
A.W Wainwright

Bonscale Pike towers above the small village of Howtown, far below on the shores of Ullswater, it's steep rocky western face is in steep contrast to the gentle grassy slopes to the east where easy paths progress to the summits of Arthur's Pike and Loadpot Hill.

The summit of Bonscale Pike is home to several stone pillars, beautifully made piles of rock overlooking a wonderful view over Ullswater, none of the pillars mark the summit of Bonscale Pike, a cairn 100m to the south marks the true summit of the fell.
