Tarn Crag (Longsleddale)

Grid Reference: NY 48848 07852
Height: 664 metres/2178 feet

"To the valley this fell presents a bold front, with Buckbarrow Crag a conspicuous object."
A.Wainwright

The eastern flank of the Longsleddale Valley marks the fringe of the Lake District, to the east of Tarn Crag and Grey Crag the land is very different, descending moorland as it stretches out towards the Pennine Fells.

The western flank of the fell is much more interesting though, the most prominent feature here is the wonderful Buckbarrow Crag, a huge crag which is popular with modern rock climbers.
