Knott Rigg

Grid Reference: NY 19742 18868
Height: 556 metres/1824 feet
"This is a simple and straightforward climb....very suitable for persons up to 7 years of age or over 70."
A Wainwright

To the south west of the Ard Crags the fine heathery ridge continues descending only slightly to the summit of Knott Rigg, before dropping over grassy slopes to Newlands Hause and Buttermere beyond. To the north Sail Beck descends towards Buttermere, dividing Knott Rigg from the higher ground around Eel Crag. To the south Keskadale Beck descends from Newlands Hause to the Newlands Valley.

Knott Rigg is usually either climbed from Rigg Beck via the Ard Crags ridge, a great short ridge walk or as an even shorter walk from either Buttermere or the summit of Newlands Hause.
