"Seen from Rannerdale, surely it is the Weisshorn of Buttermere."
A Wainwright

The conical summit of Whiteless Pike, above Buttermere and Rannerdale, when seen from below looks an impressive summit, when climbed at may not be quite as steep sided as some views from the valley below may suggest, but the small rocky summit is a wonderful position, dropping steeply on all sides except to the north where the slender ridge of Saddle Gate links Whiteless Pike to Wandope a little further up the ridge.

The views over Buttermere are magnificent, especially across Buttermere to the Scafell range.
