Seathwaite Fell, protrudes north from the base of the Great End crags bisecting the valley above Seathwaite, with Grains Gill to the east and Sty Head Gill to the west, along both of these valleys run busy paths to Scafell Pike and the high ground above Esk Hause and Sty Head respectively. Few however venture onto the rocky rambling ridge between.

At the southern end of the ridge, below the massive face of Great End lies Sprinkling Tarn, one of the most picturesque tarns in the Lake District and a popular stopping off point on the busy Esk Hause to Sty Head path nearby.

There are several summits on Seathwaite Fell, the summit is generally considered to be the southern summit, with a fine viewpoint over the valley below, but a higher summit can be found nearer Sprinkling Tarn, although without such an impressive view.
