The steep rocky face of Crag Hill above the Ennerdale Valley give a magnificent prospect from the valley below where crags climb from the lakeshore over Anglers Crag and up to Revelin Crag above before climbing to the summit cairn.
The southern slopes fall gently over grassy moorland towards Lank Rigg and the Cold Fell Road.
The summit is best approached from Ennerdale where good views over the lake and back towards the Solway Firth will be seen throughout the climb.
