A wonderful route combining great varied walking with stunning scenery, the route includes the summits of Silver How and Blea Rigg as well as taking in Easdale Tarn and the waterfalls of Sour Milk Gill.

A great route taking in some of the most spectacular scenery in the Lake District including the summits of Silver How and Blea Rigg as well as descending by Easdale Tarn and Sour Milk Gill.
From Grasmere we will take the track past Allan Bank, one of the homes of William Wordsworth and climb by Wray Gill to the summit of Silver How.
Although not one of the higher summits in the Lake District, Silver How offers some remarkable views, from the summit there is a glorious view down over Grasmere and Rydal Water with Windermere beyond.
From Silver How we follow the ridge west, passing Lang How and Swinescar Pike before climbing to the rocky summit of Blea Rigg.
From Blea Rigg our route descends north, dropping down to the beautiful Easdale Tarn and then taking the main path down from the tarn by Sour Milk Gill back towards Easdale and Grasmere.
The route is very flexible with several routes down from the Silver How / Blea Rigg ridge making it easy to shorten or extend this route depending on the needs of the group.

Directions
Grasmere can easily be found off the A591 between Ambleside and Keswick. Follow the signs into the village and park in one of the many car parks, we will meet in the centre of the village on the corner of Easdale Road, opposite Sam Reid´s Bookshop.
Bus Services
Ambleside is well served by buses, the main bus stop is100m away from the meet point.
The 555 bus runs between Kendal and Keswick, passing through Windermere and Grasmere.
The 599 runs regularly through the summer months from Bowness, Windermere and Grasmere.

This is a gorgeous walk with fantastic views throughout. The pace was relaxed and we were lucky in that we had great weather and enjoyed breaks at Silver Howe, Blea Rigg and the idyllic Easedale Tarn.
