To the north of the Snowdon Massif in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park lies another range of equal high quality, The Glyderau offer some of the roughest and most breathtaking scenery in Wales.

From Idwal Cottage a short walk to the east will bring us to the lower slopes of Tryfan from where a wonderful scramble will bring us to the summit of Tryfan.
After a short descent to the south of the summit of Tryfan a short but steep climb will bring us to the summit of Glyder Fach and the main Glyderau ridge.
The ridge continues west to the summit of Glyder Fawr, the highest summit of the day.
From Glyder Fawr the ridge turns to the north west, descending past Llyn y Cwn before the long gentle climb to the summit of Y Garn, the final summit of the day.
Our route of descent is to the east, down to Lyn Idwal and following the good path back to Idwal Cottage.

Directions
Llyn Ogwen is easily found on the A5, 5 miles south of Bethesda, the Idwal Cottage Youth Hostel is found at the western end of the water, we will meet outside the Youth Hostel.
Each participant is expected to have suitable personal equipment for their activity this should include the following:
- Walking shoes / Boots
- Waterproof clothing (Jacket and trousers)
- Suitable clothing for walking (no jeans)
- Warm tops
- Packed lunch
- Spare clothing
- Water
- Hat
- Gloves
For winter walks (November to March) events please also bring the following:
- Torch (preferably a headtorch)
- Spare batteries for the above
- Spare Gloves
- Flask & Hot Drink

If your looking for an adventure this is for you. I had no previous experience in anything like this and was just looking for an adventure, I definitely got that. This was a great day in the mountains with awesome guides, good company, amazing views and some wild weather. I will be back for some more in the future, thanks guys :-) (Posted on 27/09/2016)

Feedback on Sunday's climb up Tryfan and Bristly Ridge Review by Huw
Just thought I would give you some feedback on Sunday's climb up Tryfan and Bristly Ridge.
I really enjoyed the day, the weather was brilliant on the climbs (so glad of that) with poor visibility on the top and a tiny bit of rain on the way down, this mixture of weather seemed to add to the day's fun.
The two ladies in the group were great (a lot of girl power on Tryfan on Sunday, I was being overtaken by a young 13yr ? old and her dad) and Owen was an excellent guide, not sure if I will do that climb again (scary!) but if I did then it would be with someone like Owen nearby (and hopefully no 13yr old girl making me look like a nervous 43yr old bloke!)
