A three day challenge based in the English Lake District.
Previous to 1974 and the formation of Cumbria the Lake District covered land in Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire.
Over the three days we will climb the highest points in each of these old counties:

Scafell Pike - The highest point in Cumberland, and the highest in England.

Helvellyn - The highest point in Westmorland (and the 3rd highest point in England)

The Old Man Of Coniston - Pre 1974 the highest point in Lancashire

Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England and by far our most popular route. We probably climb Scafell Pike more than almost anyone else, so why not take advantage of this experience and let us take you up the pick of the routes.
One of the most spectacular mountaineering routes in England, the third highest mountain in England is steeped in history.
One of the most famous and popular mountains in the Lake District, another popular connection is the link between the Old Man and Arthur Ransome's Swallows And Amazons books, where The Coniston Old Man was known by the children as Kanchenjunga.

Day 1:
Where to meet: The Turning Circle, Seathwaite

Directions
From Keswick: Leave on the Borrowdale Road (from the mini roundabout near the co-op).
Follow this road for approx 8 miles, passing through Rosthwaite until just before reaching the village of Seatoller a narrow lane leads off to the left on the bend, signposted to Seathwaite, camp site and Sty Head. This road can be busy and has passing points (unmarked), blind bends and walkers in the road, also a few sheep for good measure, please drive carefully.
Follow this lane, parking as close to the end near the farm as possible, we will meet at the turning circle before the farm entrance gate.
Day 2:
Where to meet: Outside Glenridding TIC

Directions
From the South Lakes: From the A591 between Ambleside and Windermere turn onto the A592. Follow this road over the Kirkstone Pass descending to Brothers Water. Continue on this road to the village of Glenridding. A car park will be found to the left in the centre of the village, park here (pay and display) we will meet outside the Tourist Information Centre on the car park.
From the North Lakes: From the A66 between Keswick and Penrith turn off onto the A592, near the Rheged Centre, signposted to Ullswater, follow this road south along the shore of Ullswater to the village of Glenridding. A car park will be seen on the right (pay and display), just after the garage, we will meet outside the Tourist Information Centre in the car park.
Day 3:
Where to meet: Coniston TIC

From Ambleside: Follow the A593 signposted to Coniston, follow this all the way to Coniston, park in the car park on Ruskin Avenue, we will meet outside the Tourist Information Centre at the car park.
Each participant is expected to have suitable personal equipment for their activity this should include the following:
- Walking shoes / Boots
- Waterproof clothing (Jacket and trousers)
- Suitable clothing for walking (no jeans)
- Warm tops
- Packed lunch
- Spare clothing
- Water
- Hat
- Gloves
- Torch (preferably a headtorch)
- Spare batteries for the above
For winter walks (November to March) events please also bring the following:
- Spare Gloves
- Flask & Hot Drink

What an excellent three days of walking Three County Peaks. I was very impressed with the relaxed approach of the guides; this made me feel under no pressure to rush or be of a certain standard to join the walking group. I particularly wish to say a huge thank you to Rachel who guided me over Striding Edge to Helvellyn, and Old Man of Coniston. She is super friendly, always had a smile on her face, offered so much information about the environment and areas on each walk, always knew exactly the right spot to stop and catch your breath, and she enabled me to feel confident walking over Striding Edge for which I am truly grateful !!
