Lets face it, it's called the Lake District for the most obvious reason so what can you do on a rainy day?.....Yes, get wet!
This is a fun and exhilarating activity for all, best as a group activity, with fun challenges along the way from climbing a waterfall to jumping in the plunge pools. Your adrenaline will be pumping in these gorges which are naturally cut out by the flow of the water over the centuries.
All challenges and obstacles can be avoided if you wish and non swimmers need not feel left out as you will be fitted out with buoyancy aids. All safety equipment is included.
This event will take place in Church Beck, Coniston, one of the best ghylls in the Lake District, a narrow gorge with a great series of waterfalls, rapids and jumps climbing above the village of Coniston.
From the car park on Station Road it's a short walk to our entry point into Church Beck, the lower section of the beck being a series of rapids and pools, some that we will jump into before climbing higher to the really fun sections of the beck, a couple of roped sections and a few big jumps along the way make for a great experience for all.
For younger children the larger jumps higher up may not be for all, but there is plenty of enjoyment in the lower sections of the ghyll without going up to the more committing higher rapids.
Each participant will be required to bring suitable equipment for their chosen event, please see Kit List tab above.

Awesome ghyll scrambling afternoon at Church Beck with Ross as our guide.
Immense fun. Hardest part was a small traverse which we all fell off and of course in.
Serious jump and a natural slide at the top of the ghyll. Ross and my three made it look easy. It took me a few minutes to build up the courage but made it in the end. And then we did it again!! (Posted on 18/08/2016)

Why is Church Beck more expensive than other ghyll scrambles?
If I'm not taking part in the activity am I able to watch from the side?
Are dogs allowed in the ghyll?
Are there changing facilities at the meet point?
