“Latrigg is to Keswick what Loughrigg is to Ambleside and Helm Crag to Grasmere: a small hill, an excellent viewpoint, a great favourite of local folk and visitors”
A Wainwright
A great short walk from Keswick, beautiful woodland gives way to stunning fell scenery as we climb to the summit of Latrigg, one of the best viewpoints over Keswick, Derwentwater and the Borrowdale Valley
“For the man who wants to get away from it all”
A Wainwright
A great short walk from Keswick, climbing to the summit of Latrigg a great viewpoint on the lower slopes of the Skiddaw fells.
From Keswick our route takes us across the park to Spooney Green Lane, this wonderfully named track leads us across the A66 to the wooded fellside beyond, turning off the track we climb through the thick woods at Whinney Brow and follow the good track to Brundholme Woods before reacing the eastern shoulder of Latrigg.
Once above the woods we climb the grassy ridge west to the summit of Latrigg and the stunning views south over Keswick.
Our descent from Latrigg takes us down the good path to the north west to reach the upper section of Spooney Green Lane, following this back to Keswick.
Each participant will be required to bring suitable equipment for their chosen event, please see Kit List tab above.
